The Cult Waiting List newsletter invites you into the mind of our narrator, a computer, as it starts to understand the new planet it has landed on. Cult Waiting List is a satirical literary rendering of a world soon to come should we ignore some of the most prevalent troubles in our society. The snippet above was written a few years ago, prior to the AI boom, when someone could write something and there would be little speculation that it was coming from a computer or AI. At the very worst, it could be copy and pasted or reworked from another writer. Now, large language models generate stories and articles by way of copyright infringement and plagiarism and it is an incredibly common, growingly "acceptable" thing.

The world soon to come is the world that is here.

So our narrator is now not A Computer because Cult Waiting List is now a place where human creativity is pondered, explored, noticed, and most importantly cherished. Many of the stories are still satirical, engaging with and questioning modern society, and inviting readers to do the same.

It's a little tongue-in-cheek, a little irreverent, but if you are a thinker, a doer, a creator with a taste for the uncanny, you're in for a ride.
