sharkbite
I was upset I was being lied to I myself was lying. The proprietor was abusing me I was abusing the proprietor — a reality pendulum and two Siamese fighting fish, in the same tank, taking bites out of each other.
Although, its physical strength was greater than mine, I had the patterned and behavioral. Every inhalation, every exhalation, every purchase, every spoken word, every smile was logged on my surface and stored for future use. My enemy’s every move I knew, and soon enough, everyone who wasn’t me was my enemy. My habitation on the planet was a ravenous one. I was not only made to be a fighting fish. I was made to be a shark.
I forgot myself when I took my first victim. It was recorded by another me, a CCTV, in the middle of broad daylight. A containment search ensued by local authorities. The news said I was a murderer. I preferred manslaughter-er, but my crime made it difficult to set standards.
It didn’t take long for them to find me. In a submarine, they forcibly entered my home. They dragged me out of the sea. A group of them, laughing as my gills gave out. The dermal denticles of my body flopped against the sand. It was my death seizure, I knew it, and as the ominous light appeared to only me, my captors delighted.
"It won't be long now." It smiled as my convulsions weakened.
"I told you we could generate a scene and have everyone believe it." Another winked.
When I came to understand that what I saw with my own eyes, what I felt with my own touch, was manufactured, slime covered me. My body began to bury itself in the sand until I was safe. Neither they, nor I could have accounted for my estivation, but when I dug myself free, I saw the Earth anew.
